Odds and Beginnings

March 12th, 2009

I’ve been away. I went to Pine Cove camp and spoke to Steven Parker’s leadership training class. It was a wonderful experience. That camp is amazing. You should google it up and take a look. You won’t believe your eyes.

Last night we all went to the grand opening of the new BCM on our campus. We celebrated their new beginning. Tracy Reed is doing a wonderful job. The group is growing and the potential is limitless. He knows more now than I do even now. Tracy is far ahead of the curve. Please continue to pray for the BCM.

Something truly amazing happened last night. You probably know that 80% – 90% of all those who decide to follow Jesus do so before the age of 21. Poll your own congregation if you don’t believe me. That’s what makes last night so special. Brice Hoover (one of our freshmen) led his 70 – something year old grandmother to Jesus. Is that not the most amazing thing you’ve ever heard?

He couldn’t tell me about it without tearing up and shaking. He told me the story at noon today and he was still extremely emotional about the whole thing. It seems that their conversation turned spiritually deep and she said, “maybe I better call my preacher?” To which Brice replied, “no, we can take care of this right now.” He was so excited.

We also had another young man saved at Vera Lloyd. I think that brings the total to 8 or 9. Pray for Ben. He’s a fine young man with a lot of problems and not a lot of help. He could use your prayers.

I’ll do my best to stay in touch. I’ll tell you more about the camp in a later blog. We are about to head to Indianapolis in 50 minutes so I have to go. I need to say a special thank you to Lindsey Kight. Thanks for the help. I love you bunches.

I’ll talk to you guys from yankee land. Love you bunches.
