They tell me that the word NIKE means champion is greek. If that’s true then their mantra, “Just Do It”, makes even more sense. Champions don’t talk about what they are going to do, they do it. “We are more than conquerors (champions) through him (Jesus) who saved us!” (Romans 8.37) Let’s do something now!
Question; do you spend more or your money on yourself or on others? Do you spend more of your time helping others or indulging yourself? Do you spend your energy and talent trying to climb the ladder of success or trying to aide someone else in their struggles? “I’ll show you my faith by what I do.” (James 2.18b)
These last two weeks have seen a flurry of activity on our campus. Today is no different. We have a chance, as a group, to make a huge impact on this day. I need your help to make this happen. It’s up to you; “Do or do not, there is no try.” Here we go! Let’s prove that we believe what we say.
This morning at 9:30am is the area Special Olympics track meet. It will be held at the Monticello High School track facility. They need volunteers all morning. Come to the track dressed casually and ready to hug someone. Find me and I’ll put you to work.
The Center needs to be cleaned and set-up for tonights worship time. My last teaching time is tonight. That will be going on all day at the MBSF Center. All day long we need to invite as many folks as we can to come and here the gospel. We only have two meetings left. Let’s take advantage of the time we have available.
The Blossoms Softball team plays today. The games will begin just after noon. Some of our guys will be grilling hotdogs and visiting with the crowd. Our girls need to win both these games. They need our support. Contact Daniel Bowers if you want to help or just go to the field and give Dan a Hand. Be supportive. The ladies need us today!
Nick Green is overseeing a dodgeball tournament this afternoon to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This organization grants the wishes of children with terminal cancer. It’s a great program and we need to raise some money for them. Play in the tournament. Create a team of your own. Donate some money. Get involved. Here’s your chance. The touranament begins at 6:30pm in the UC gym.
Our Vera Lloyd ministry is still going. Some of you have gone, tirelessly, to the orphanage for the entire year. The PE time begins at 12:30 for the guys and 1:30 for the girls. They can always use a fresh face. We’ll be doing a cookout for The Home on Friday. Call me for more details.
I’ll be carrying Mrs. Nancy Early to Little Rock for her radiation treatment today. Coach has a game and Miss Nan needed a driver so I’m it. Carla and I will be out of pocket until about 5pm this afternoon. Pray for Miss Nan, she’s riding with me!
Renown is tonight at 9pm. I hope you’ll come by and woship with me. I hope you’ll bring someone with you. Let’s fill the New House.
